Author-it 2026.R2 Release Webinar - What's New
Summary
2026.R2 brings Author-it's first AI content assistance feature - CoAuthor - alongside improvements to Review workflows, the Translations API, Word publishing, Magellan search, and a platform visual refresh. CoAuthor launches as a limited trial, grounded in your own structured, published content. Jamie Simmonds walks through the full release in this webinar, recorded live on 4 June 2026 (US) and 11 June 2026 (EU).
What's covered in this webinar
2026.R2 is where AI moves from output format to active authoring assistant - and where the structured content foundation laid in R1 starts to compound.
Jamie Simmonds walks through every update, including:
CoAuthor - AI content assistance (limited trial)
CoAuthor is AI content assistance built directly into the Author editor. It queries your organisation's own published, structured content to return context-aware suggestions based on the topic you are working on - without leaving the authoring workspace. Powered by Writer AI, it draws on what you have already approved rather than general training data. CoAuthor is available as a limited, request-based trial in 2026.R2. Spots are capped. If you are interested in participating, contact your account manager.
Platform brand refresh
Author-it Cloud gets a visual refresh in R2. Updated logos and colours to align with the current brand refresh.
Review improvements
Three improvements to Review workflows: a new Complete Editorial button for faster sign-off, instant review start so reviewers can begin as soon as a review is created, and 60-minute interval scheduling for tighter cycle control.
Word URL control
More precise control over how hyperlinks are published in Word outputs. Define how URLs render - giving teams better consistency across Word-based deliverables.
Translations API - reference files and job notes
The Translations API now supports reference files and job notes. Provide translators with context material and internal notes alongside the content being translated - without manual workarounds.
Magellan search enhancements
Further improvements to search performance and indexing in Magellan-published help portals, continuing the investment from R1.
2026.R2 releases Sunday 21 June 2026. GX2 customers receive the update during the Sunday 06:00-10:00 UTC maintenance window. GX1 customers receive the update during the following Tuesday 20:00-24:00 UTC maintenance window.

Q: Is CoAuthor available to all Author-it customers?
