We’re different. That’s a good thing.
Why choose author-it?
The original component authoring tool.
We don’t like to show our age, but Author-it actually created component authoring over 20 years ago, paving the way for modern authoring tools.
We understand the needs of tech writers and their teams, as our solutions were built by authors, for authors. Our team of seasoned professionals are experts in change management and focus on your business outcomes. Plus, our in-house implementation team can help you get set up so you can get on your way.
A real CCMS
A true CCMS like Author-it, is a relational database that automatically breaks down your documents and stores content in these reusable components, which are kind of like Legos.
This variant architecture is highly searchable and robust due to the granularity of the content being managed, which means you can store and easily manage large volumes of content without losing control of your documentation. From there you can intuitively manage components, workflows, translations, and more in our built-in CCMS.
Keep in mind that while some companies claim to have a built-in CCMS, they’re often file-based, where access is limited to one user at a time and content is overwritten. While DITA and XML solutions are technically CCMS, they are really just a repository of code.
A better way to create and deliver content.
Traditional content is not reusable.
Document-based content is locked away in silos, wasting time and money when content needs to be found and repurposed.
Break down silos
Unlike traditional, document-based methods, such as Word, Author-it is an efficient, effective, and secure way to create, manage and deliver your content to multiple channels while staying accurate and on-brand. Documentation teams can easily find and reuse blocks of content to assemble documents with structured authoring, and SMEs can easily contribute in real time with or without the need for technical expertise. In fact, no coding is required.
And, when reused content changes, Author-it alerts authors so they can seamlessly incorporate updates into their documents.
Create, collaborate, manage, reuse, translate and publish to anyone, anywhere, on any device. All on one platform.
Find the solution that’s for you.
