Publishing and Viewing the Sample Presentation

Once you've set things up, you're ready to publish the sample slide show.

To Publish the Sample Presentation

1. From the Library Explorer right-click on the Author-it Sample Presentation Book and choose Publish To, then choose HTML or XHTML.

   -or-

   From the Book Editor menu, choose Publish > Publish To, then choose HTML or XHTML.

   -or-

   From the Author-it main menu, chose Publish > Publish To, then choose HTML or XHTML. This option is disabled if the book is not open.

2. Progress is shown as Author-it publishes the presentation.

After publishing the sample presentation you'll want to view the slide show to see how it all works. The slide show can be opened from the publishing window or from the publishing folder.

To View the Sample Presentation After Publishing

1. From the Publishing window choose View Output. The presentation is opened in your default browser.
2. Put the browser in full screen mode, this is usually F11. Also hide any menus, toolbars, and status bars so the slide occupies the full screen.
3. Click on the Play button on the Control bar to start the slide show.

To View the Sample Presentation from the Publishing Folder

1. Locate the publishing folder containing the presentation, this will be something like ../Author-it/Data/Publishing/HTML/...
2. Open the folder and look for the index.htm file.
3. Double click on index.htm. The presentation will be loaded into your Internet browser.
4. Put the browser in full screen mode, this is usually F11. Also hide any menus, toolbars, and status bars so the slide occupies the full screen.
5. Click on the Play button to start the slide show.

Note: The default templates supplied have been created for viewing using 1024 x 768 screen resolution. To view the presentation correctly please set your screen resolution to match.
