Presentation Features

Author-it uses a set of object templates, objects, publishing templates, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), and Javascript to publish high quality slide show presentations in HTML/XHTML or print formats.

In Author-it, a book represents the presentation, and each slide is a topic. Presentations are quickly built from scratch using new or existing slides. Following are some of the main features.

  • Created and maintained as single source content in AuthorIT
  • Published in W3C compliant HTML/XHTML and print formats
  • Provides full table of contents and navigation controls
  • Supports keyboard navigation, with timed and continuous looping
  • Slide transition effects (Internet Explorer only)
  • Slides can appear complete, one element at a time, or in groups
  • Viewed in a web browser, so supports anything you can display in a browser including videos and flash

A presentation's look and feel can be changed by simply changing the template the book is based on.
