Publishing From a Target Library

Publishing from a Target library is almost the same as publishing from any other library, with a couple of small exceptions:

  • External File Locations

Files external to your Library (such as Word templates, HTML templates and linked graphics) are stored in sub folders under your Localization folder. These folders have names that are an abbreviated version of where the file was originally stored. The path to this external file that you see inside an object is not the location that the Publisher will actually look for it.

  • Publishing Folder

The folder your published output is created in will now also contain the name of your Localization. This is to prevent the English version overwriting the French (or vice versa) when you publish.

Most importantly, however, you must ensure the correct language settings are used on the machine you are publishing from. This involves setting the system locale to the desired language and using the correct input locale before publishing.

To Publish Directly from Localization Manager:

  1. Select the Target library that you wish to publish from
  2. Choose the Open Library with Publisher button on the main toolbar

    -or-

Choose Libraries > Open Library with Publisher... from the main menu

    -or-

Right click and choose Open Library with Publisher...

The Library opens with the Author-it Publisher

  3. Select Publish and choose the Book/s and relevant outputs you wish to publish to.

Note: You can also publish from the Source library in this way.
