Exporting a Translation Job

Once a Translation Job has been created, it needs to be exported to XML. The XML file can then be sent to the translators. The XML file can be translated using translation memory tools that support XML based editors such as TRADOS Tag Editor.

To Export a Translation Job

  1. Select the Jobs to be exported
  2. Choose the Export Job Button button on the main toolbar

    -or-

Choose Jobs > Export Job from the main menu

    -or-

Right click and choose Export Job

    Export Job

  3. The Job is exported to XML and the files saved in the folder defined under the Job Properties.

Note: Objects that have been exported are locked in the Target library. This prevents anyone changing the objects while they are being translated. If an object cannot be locked (for example if it is already locked or the person exporting the Translation Job does not have permissions to modify the object) the object is not exported.
