Adding a Translation Job

Translation Jobs are used to define which objects will be exported to XML and sent for translation. Once the Job has been exported as XML, those objects are locked in the Target Library and cannot be modified until they are returned.

A Translation Job has the following attributes:

  • Description: A description used to identify the translation job.
  • Translator: Used to record the name of the translator the job is assigned to.
  • Export XML to: Location of the folder where the XML files will be created.
  • Import XML from: Location of the folder where the XML files will be imported from.
  • Export Release State: Defines a Release State that is applied to the objects once exported.
  • Import Release State: Defines a Release State that is applied to the objects once imported.
  • Status: Indicates the current status of the Translation Job.
    • Ready for Translation: The Job has been created but not yet exported as XML.
    • Exported for Translation: The Job has been exported as XML and sent for translation.
    • Imported from Translation: The Job is complete and the XML has been imported.
  • Translation Job Rules: A rule, or set of rules, covering which objects will be included for translation.

    Translation Job Properties

To Add a Translation Job:

  1. Select the Jobs folder
  2. Choose the Add Job Button button on the main toolbar

    -or-

    Right click and choose Add Job...

  3. Enter the Job properties and creation rules.
  4. Choose OK to add the Job.
