Installing a Single User (Desktop) Edition

Installing Author-it Desktop Edition is easy. We recommend that you accept the default values suggested by the Setup program.

To Install Author-it Desktop Edition

Close all other Windows programs. This lets Author-it update essential components which are shared by other programs.
Run the Author-it setup program. After a few seconds the Setup Wizard appears, to guide you through the rest of the installation. Choose Next when you are ready to continue with the installation.
Enter the Author-it serial number that you have been supplied with, then choose Next to continue.
If you are happy with the agreement, then choose Yes, I Accept This Agreement to continue the setup.
Enter your Name, Organization and Email details. Choose Next to continue.
Confirm the Application File Location. This is where the Author-it program and supporting files will be installed. Choose Next to continue.
Confirm the Data File Location. This is where your library and template files will be located. Choose Next to continue.
When you have completed all of the required steps, choose Next to begin the installation process.

The Author-it application and supporting files are then copied across to your computer.
The Setup Wizard tells you when it has finished installing the files and configuring your computer. Choose Finish to exit the Setup program.
You may be prompted at this time to restart your PC. It is recommended that you let the PC restart.

Congratulations, Author-it is now installed on your PC!
