Error Loading Book Contents - Parent Row is Greater than Rows

Known Issue

You may receive the following error on opening a Book object:

Error Loading Book Contents

Reason

This is known to occur when moving topics between books, and deleting them from the library before they have been saved in the new book. For example, using the following scenario:

You have two Books (we'll call them Book A and Book B).

Book A contains a number of topics, and you select several of these and drag them into Book B. At this stage you haven't saved Book B.

You then remove these topics from Book A.

On saving Book A, you receive a message that (number) of the topics removed are no longer used, and asked if you wish to delete them.

Unused Objects Removed - Prompt to Delete

You choose "Yes".

This is where the problem occurs. As Book B has not yet been saved, Author-it doesn't identify those topics as being used in Book B, so those topics are deleted from the library.

You save Book B but as those topics have now been deleted from the library, the Book Contents become corrupt - and you receive the message Error loading Book contents (ParentRow is greater than Rows)... each time you open it. Reindexing the Book Contents will not correct the problem, as the topics are no longer in the library.

Workaround

We are looking at how this can be prevented for a future update, but in the meantime, you'll need to take care that your "Book B"s are being saved before saying yes and removing any objects from the library permanently.

To retrieve your topics, you can either:

  1. restore from backup,

    -or-

  2. use the current library and delete and recreate the effected Book. As there are topics that have been deleted from the library, you'll need to recreate these - you may be able to import these from a previous backup.
