Version 4.0.428 (12-Feb-2003)

The following issues have been resolved in this build:

• When applying a new template to a File object that changes it from linked to embedded, or from embedded to linked, the existing graphic is converted automatically. This automatic conversion works for most picture formats, but not for OLE Objects or File objects with multiple different linked files.
• When viewing File objects within the preview pane, Book editor or Topic editor, if the File object is set to not display in the media being viewed then a small Not in this output graphic is displayed.
• If a File object was used in a Topic but was excluded from Word output, a blank paragraph was incorrectly inserted.
• Installations on Windows 2000 were clashing with the Windows installer.
• When publishing to Word on computers using Word 97, Invalid Page Faults occured. This was traced to an error within Word when using a Field.Result.Range object.
• When importing, errors during Topic creation could cause all Topics after the error to be skipped, however the import continued and File objects were imported. Import now continues to import the remaining Topics after a Topic with an error in it.
• Tab settings smaller than 1 cm (or 1 inch) didn't work.
• If the search had been used, when returning to the search tab, the text in the containing text field was incorrectly highlighted. This looked like you should be able to immediately type into this field. The text is no longer highlighted.
• Variables now resolving in HTML popups.
• If a Topic was taken offline, that contained an embedded Topic that wasn't available offline, corruption to the Topic text occured. Now the text Not available offline appears as a placeholder.
• Importing some HTML pages caused an error:

  "Text protection error. This deletion joins dissimilar HTML paragraphs. Invalid action"

• The Topic editor was only showing the first two lines of a Topic on some computers. After installing the "HP LaserJet 2100 Series PS" driver we finally managed to reproduce (and fix) this problem.
• In the Search tab, US short date format (mm-dd-yy) did not work in the modified from/to fields.
• When publishing to WinHelp, hyperlinks with buttons would hang the publisher.
• When importing, columns were not being removed correctly, causing publishing of the imported Topics to fail.
• When publishing, to all outputs, the settings for paragraph styles that indicate if a style displayed in an output were not being interpreted correctly in all situations.
• File objects placed directly in the Book contents are now inserted correctly into the preceding Topic during publishing.
• Creating a hypertext link by dragging and dropping didn't always set the "changed" flag on a Topic. Exiting the Topic wouldn't prompt for a save, unless something else had changed.
• If a Media object isn't defined in the first Topic in a Book, publishing to HTML now halts with a clear error message indicating this is the case.
• Fixes to several areas where regional settings were not being observed correctly interpreting numbers. (i.e. 0,5cm using German settings). Specifically the File object: print/help scale heights and widths).
• Embedded Topics ignored settings not to appear in various outputs.
• Inappropriate menu options are now disabled when in the Topic heading. The Topic heading is a text only field and the following options are now unavailable: inserting symbols, non-breaking spaces, non-breaking hyphens, pictures, file objects, OLE objects, hypertext links.
• Locate in Current Book didn't always work in the Book object.
• The Object > Duplicate menu option no longer available when attempting to duplicate the Book editor. Open a Book as a Book Object to duplicate it.
• Importing large (200Mb) Word documents with many graphics could cause Automation Errors.
• Project Manager - adding a note caused all previous notes to be resaved with the current date/time.
• Project Manager - selecting refresh did not refresh changes.
