Copying Rules and Profiles From Another Library

Profiles and Rules, can be exported to an Author-it Import Package file (.AIM file) and imported into another library. This is helpful when you want to share your Profiles with others, and provides a way of getting help if you need it without having to send your entire library.

To Export Objects to an AIM file

  1. From the main menu, choose Import > Transformation Profiles.

    The Import Profiles window appears.

  2. Select the Profiles you wish to copy, and choose Export.
  3. Enter a name and location for the AIM file, then choose Open.

    The Profiles and their associated Rules are copied to the new AIM file.

To Import Objects from an AIM file

  1. From the main menu, choose Import > From an AIM File.

    The Select an Author-it Import Package file window appears.

  2. Locate and select the AIM file you wish to import and choose Open

    The Rules and Profiles contained in the AIM file are imported into your Library.
