The Lifecycle of an Offline Library

When you will be unable to connect to an Author-it library directly, you can work in an offline library instead. This procedure works as follows:

  1. Connect to the main library
  2. Enable Offline Authoring
  3. Mark which objects you want to be available offline (available objects are "read-only")
  4. Mark which objects you want to check-out offline (checked-out objects are "read-write")
  5. Set where you want your offline library created
  6. Create the offline library
  7. Take the offline library away with you
  8. Work on the offline library
  9. Bring the offline library back again
  10. Check-in the offline library
  11. You may be prompted to select a path to store any new files (external to the Author-it library) that were linked to while offline.
