Viewing Delivered Outputs

To view your document's outputs, your readers need to have the correct run time components for each output format installed on their computers.

If you are delivering HTML Help, you'll only need to send the *.CHM file. If you are delivering Windows Help, you'll need to send your client the *.HLP and the *.CNT files from your publishing directory. To open your online Help system, your client will need the WinHelp run time files or HTML Help run time files, which are automatically installed with Windows or Internet Explorer, depending on which version of those programs the client uses. Most people have these files on their computer.

Note: Microsoft has recently released security updates that prevent HTML Help (.chm) files being viewed over a local network. The files should be saved to a local machine before opening.

To view JavaHelp or Oracle Help for Java output your client will need the Sun Java Runtime Environment (JRE).
