Integration Server Permissions

In order for Author-it Live to function we must modify the permissions of the Author-it Integration Server folder. Locate the folder where the Author-it Integration Server is installed. (Default location is C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\aitIS) or (see Author-it Integration Server Location on your planning sheet). Ensure that the user NETWORK SERVICE or ASPNET has read, write and modify permissions.

• For Windows 2000 the default user is ASPNET.

• For Windows 2003 Server the default user is NETWORK SERVICE.

To Grant Access to the Author-it Integration Server Folder:

1. Navigate to c: > inetpub > wwwroot > aitis folder
2. Right-click on the aitis folder
3. Select properties
4. Select the Security tab
5. Choose Add

   

6. Choose Advanced from the Select Users, Computers, or groups window

   

7. Choose Find Now from the Select Users, Computers, or groups window

   

8. From the list of results displayed select the User Network Service (Windows 2003) or ASP.NET (Windows 2000)
9. Choose OK.
10. NETWORK SERVICE or ASP.NET is added to the list of groups or user names, select the user.
11. In the permissions section grant NETWORK SERVICE or ASP.NET read, write and modify permissions.

NOTE: There may be a user named NETWORK, Please make sure that this is not selected Author-it Integration Server works through the user Network Service.
