The following major enhancements have been added in this release:

Translation Export Wizard:

The Localization Manager's new Translation Export Wizard simplifies and automates the process of creating translation jobs for multiple locales, with advanced workflow data integration options. The wizard steps you through the process of creating translation jobs for one or more books, to one or more locales.

• Default settings for the library can be defined in the Administrator module.
• A separate job file is created for each locale. Using the wizard you can create a job for a single locale, or for a number of locales simultaneously.
• The wizard enables the option of creating a translation job for returning content that has been previously translated but may need correcting or updating.
• Previously translated content can be included with a translation job to provide context for the translator. The context material is flagged so it is not included in the translatable content.

Target Libraries can now be held on SQL Support, eliminating the limitations of JET databases.

New Options for Including Images with XML:

New options have been added for including images with XML files.

Traditionally linked graphics have been favored by those localizing content, as embedded graphics have been difficult to translate. Embedded images can now be exported with a translation job, making the translation process smoother and more streamlined. You can have all the advantages and control that embedded images provide, while benefiting from the flexibility previously only available with linked graphics.

EPS and TIFF Support:

Enterprise Edition Only

AuthorIT now includes support for EPS and TIFF images used in printed outputs. EPS and TIFF images can be added as embedded or linked File Objects, and viewed in the Topic Editor.

For publishing, the File Object is set to source format for print, and converted to an appropriate format for online outputs.

Note: A PostScript printer is required for printing EPS images.

Insert File Object From Thumbnail:

The Topic Editor includes a new option for inserting images into topics. When the selected folder is opened the file objects in the folder are displayed, enabling the user to select the image from the thumbnail rather than the File Object's description.
