Customizing the Styles Toolbar

Each user in an Author-it Library can have their own customized Styles toolbar. This toolbar is displayed in the Write ribbon at the top of the Editor. this provides one click access to quickly format text.

The Styles Toolbar can contain any of the Styles in your library, and it comes with some of the most commonly used ones already installed.

Note: The Styles Toolbar is specific to your user account and to the current Library. If you're using more than one Library, you'll need to define your styles toolbar in each one.

To Customize the Styles Toolbar

  1. From Advanced ribbon choose the Styles shortcuts button.

    -OR-

    In any topic, double-click just to the right of the Styles Toolbar.

    The Customize Styles Toolbar window appears.

Now you're ready to:

  • Add Styles to the toolbar.
  • Remove Styles from the toolbar.
  • Change the picture associated with a Style.
  • Assign a keyboard shortcut to a Style.
  • Copy Styles from another person's User Account.
