Administrator Settings for Localization Manager
The following Translation Job Settings can be set in the Administrator module, enforcing certain translation options at the Library level. The Localization Manager Settings dialog box is accessed through the main menu in Administrator, choosing Settings > Localization Settings.

- Export Embedded Pictures As Files - used to create a separate image file for all embedded file objects in the topics sent for translation. The image files can be updated by the translator. When the translated content is imported into the target library the file objects are updated with the returned image files.
- Export Linked Pictures As Files - used to add an image file for linked file objects in the topics sent for translation. The image files can be updated by the translator. When the translated content is imported into the target library the file objects are updated with the returned image files.
- Include a Preview of File Objects - select this option when you want Author-it to include a preview of all images in the translation job, allowing the translator to preview the images in the XML file using a browser. The preview images are created using JPG format, regardless of the native format that will be used in the final output.
- Include Translated Objects in Translation Jobs - this option is used when you need to send context material with a translation job. In some situations you will only send a small number of topics for translation, and there might not be enough content to provide context for the translator. The Include Translated objects in Translation Jobs option enables to you to include other topics, that have already been translated, in the translation job files as context material only. The topics that have been already been translated are flagged as not translatable so they are not re-translated.
The Export and Import folders define the locations where the content to be translated and the content returned from translation are stored. The folder pathways can include variables, with the values taken from the book or the library.
- Export folder - the Export folder is the location where the Translation Job XML files are saved to. Use the Browse button to select a folder on the network or local machine.
- Import folder - the Import folder is the location where the Localization Manager expects to find the returned translation files (the translated files are imported into the target library when the translation is completed). The Import folder pathway can include variables, with the values taken from the book or the library. Use the Browse button to select a folder.
The Release States define the state that will be applied to objects included in a translation job when they are exported, and later imported back into the target library. Note: the Release States must already exist in the library.
- Export Release State - the Export Release State is applied to objects in the target library when they are sent in a translation job.
- Import Release State - the Import Release State is applied to objects when the translation has been completed and the job is imported into the target library. The objects from the translation job overwrite the objects in the library, and the release state is updated to indicate that they have been translated.
