Creating a New Topic

New topics are created when a book has been opened in the Book Contents pane. In Author-it Live new topics are added directly to the Book's content, and the topic object is added to the folder containing the Book.

To Create a New Topic in a Book:

  1. Open the book in the Book Contents pane
  2. Choose Lock Book icon on the Book Contents Toolbar to put the book into Edit Mode
  3. Select a topic in the book contents (the new topic is added as a child of the selected topic in the book's content pane)
  4. Choose Create new topic on the Book Contents Toolbar
  5. In the New Topic dialog box enter the topic's description and choose a template from the drop-down list
  6. Choose OK to create the topic. The new topic is opened in the Topic Editor.
  7. Save the changes to the book.
