Website and Workflow Analysis
Before embarking on your website project, you should sit back and analyze your website.
- What page layouts are used?
Often a website uses no more than two or three page layouts to display the different types of content. For example, a website might use a home page incorporating graphics and links to news items and products, a main page layout for pages containing the website's information, and a newsletter layout for displaying the company's press releases.
- What content types are there?
Content can be categorized into types. For example, as well as the main body, there may be: news, announcements, adverts, related pages, tips, notes, and so on. These may be created as standalone topics in Author-it that are then assembled in Author-it Website Manager to build a page.
