Deleting a Template

Templates can be deleted from an experience if they are no longer needed. When you delete a template you remove the link to the template used by the experience.

Delete the template

To Delete a Template from an Experience:

  1. Open the Experience screen
  2. Select the Experience
  3. Choose the Templates tab
  4. Select the template you want to delete and choose Delete

    Note: Deleting the template will remove the link to the template, it will not delete the template file from the folder.

  5. A message is displayed asking you to confirm you want to delete the template. Choose Delete to complete the process.

Important: Templates that are currently used can be deleted

Deleting a template associated to a page

Deleting a template associated to a page removes the link to the template for all pages associated to that template. When the page is opened in Author-it Website Manager the page is no longer displayed correctly. However the page can still be viewed as part of the website, but will be created using the default template defined in the experience.

Deleting a default template

Deleting a default template removes the link from the experience, the result is the website can no longer be viewed
