Changing Folder Security

If you are the person who created a Library Folder or if you have Change Permissions security access to that folder, you can change the folder's security permissions. Otherwise, you'll need to ask your Author-it Administrator to change the permissions, using the separate Author-it Administrator program.

To Change Folder Security

  1. Select the folder whose security permissions you want to change.
  2. Right-click on the folder, and choose Properties from the shortcut menu. The Folder Properties window appears.
  3. Switch to the Permissions tab.
  4. Select the User or Group you want to work with. Their Folder Action permissions are shown as ticks. For users, any blue ticks are inherited from a group to which the user belongs - so you'll have to either change the group's permissions, or remove the user from that group.
  5. Change the User or Group's permissions.
    • To add permissions, make sure the checkbox is ticked.
    • To remove permissions, make sure the checkbox is blank.

Note: When you add or remove permissions, others may automatically be added or removed at the same time.

  6. Choose Apply or OK to save your changes.
