Defining the Default Browser ProfileBrowser profiles are used to define the experience delivered to the visitor when they access your website. Using the browser profile you can deliver content optimized for a specific browser type, for example viewing the website using a desktop machine or viewing the site using a PDA. The browser profiles are set in the Content screen and define the experience and home page delivered to the visitor for each language. Browser profiles are created after the content and experience have been created, and the pages have been added to Author-it Website Manager. If you are working with several languages you have the option of creating browser profiles for each language. If browser profiles are not set for specific languages the visitors experience will use the browser profiles set in the default language. The default profile for each language is set to cover all browser types. Once the content has been added to Author-it Website Manager the default browser profile is updated to point to an experience and home page. Additional profiles can be created for specific browser types (such as PDAs) as needed. Note: The default browser profile must be updated before the webpages can be viewed.
