Creating a New Version of an Object

Author-it allows you to create multiple versions of an individual object. You can choose to make a new version of an object at any time.

Workgroup Edition, Enterprise Edition

Note: You can not create new versions of Style objects or of object templates.

To Create a New Version of an Object

  1. Open the object of which you want to create a new version.
  2. From the main menu, choose Object > New Version

    -OR-

From the main toolbar, choose the New Version Button button.

A message appears, asking you to confirm your action.

  3. Choose Yes to create the new version. Author-it creates and displays an exact duplicate of the original object, with a new version number and a status of Inactive. You'll need to make the new version active before it can be included in any published documents.
