Importing the Templates, Objects, and Sample Presentation

The presentations.zip file contains two Author-it XML files:

  1. Presentation Templates.xml. Containing the new objects and templates used in your library to create presentations. This file should be imported first.

    -and-

  2. Sample Presentation.xml. Containing a sample presentation (book and topics) that can be published from your library to give you an idea of how it all works.

Note: In order to import the XML files you will need to be running Author-it Enterprise Edition version 4.1.473 or later. Author-it Desktop and Workgroup Editions do not support XML importing so cannot be used. For information on upgrading please visit our pricing page.

To Import the Author-it Templates, Objects, and Sample Presentation:

  1. Open the library you want to import the files into.
  2. Choose the folder to import into. We recommend selecting the Restricted folder so the new templates are in located under the same parent folder as your existing templates.
  3. In the main window choose Import > Author-it > XML. Navigate to the folder containing the XML files and select Presentation Templates.xml then choose Open to begin importing.
