Working with Author-it XML

Any object can be exported to XML format, and XML files that conform to Author-it specifications can be imported into any Author-it library.

The XML Export/Import has been designed primarily to allow you to transfer information between libraries, but there are many other potential uses.

An Author-it XML file contains a number of Author-it objects, along with related information. The content of each XML file will vary depending on the number and types of object included, and each object type has a corresponding XML structure. The XML for each object type is described in detail in the Author-it XML Format Specification. This document can also be downloaded in PDF format from the Author-it website.
