Author-it XML FormatThis document describes the XML format used by Author-it. The XML file can be used for the purposes of translation, or transferring information between libraries. The Author-it XML file contains a number of Author-it objects, along with related information. The content of each XML file will vary depending on the number and types of object included. Within Author-it there are 13 different object types. Each of these object types has a corresponding XML structure. The XML for each object type is described in this document. The Author-it XML FileAll selected objects will be exported to a single XML file with the ".xml" extension. The XML file will have an Author-it root element, and may contain five child elements: Objects, ObjectSummarys, Folders, Release States, and Information. The contents of these major elements are described below. The Author-it XML Schema FileIf an XML schema file is included, it will have the ".xsd" extension. This file can be used with an XML parser to validate the contents of an XML file to check for structural correctness, and semantic correctness (i.e. to check that the values of each element are valid).
