Cancelling a Translation Job

There can be circumstances when you need to cancel a Translation Job. For example, you may have defined the rules incorrectly and the wrong information was included when it was exported. Or content in the source library may have been updated after the job was exported but before the initial translation could be started. If the initial translation has not begun, cancelling the job allows you to Export the Job again with the updated information.

Note: If you've already sent the XML to your Translators, remember to let them know that the Job has been cancelled so they don't inadvertently translate the old files.

To Cancel a Translation Job:

  1. Select the Translation Job that you want to cancel.
  2. Choose Translation Jobs > Cancel from the menu

    -or-

Choose Cancel on the main Translation Jobs toolbar

    -or-

    Right-click and choose Cancel.

  3. A message appears asking you to confirm the action. Choose Yes to cancel the job. The object locks that were created when the job was exported are removed in the Target library allowing you to modify the job properties and export it again.

Note: The XML file that was created when the job was first exported will need to be deleted manually before the job can be exported again. Likewise, the release state that was applied to the objects in the Target Library when they were first exported is not removed automatically and will need to be modified manually if necessary.
