Roles and Responsibilities in the Localization Process

As a general rule, most companies have the following groups contributing to the creation of content and the localization process:

Role

Responsible For

Authors

Creating, modifying, and maintaining the content in the main Author-it library.

Reviewers

Reviewing Author-it content.

Localization Coordinator

Coordinating and managing the localization process, including overseeing the translation.

This role may be shared with a translation company or companies.

Translators

Translating content into the target language.

Localization Reviewers

Reviewing translated content.

While the workflow and specific responsibilities may differ from one company to the next, the roles are generally very similar.
