Character

Style Mapping - Character

Font Name

Determines the name of the font. This field can be left blank, in which case only the other formatting characteristics are used. The font name can either be typed in (ideal when the font is not installed on your PC), or selected from the drop-down menu.

Font size

Determines the font size (in pts). This field can be left blank, in which case only the other formatting characteristics are used.

Underline

Defines the underline type: (None), Single, Double, or Dotted.

Color

Defines the color of the text to be found. When a color is selected, only text found matching that color will have the rule applied. If Black (the default) is selected, the rule does not look for a specific color.

Effects

Determines whether the text has bold, italic, superscript, or subscript characteristics.

Indentation

Defines the indentation of the text relative to the page margin as an exact measurement.

You can use:

  • Inches (in)
  • Centimeters (cm)
  • Millimeters (mm)
  • Points (pt)
  • Picas (pc)

Select the measurement from the list of options.

Measurement List

Alignment

Defines the alignment of the text: (Any), Left, Right, Centered, or Justified.

When (Any) is specified, only the remaining formatting characteristics are used.

Spacing

Defines the spacing as an exact measurement in points (pts) before and after (above and below) the paragraph.

Line spacing determines the amount of vertical space between the lines of text, and is measured in lines (li).

Bullets and Numbering

Determines if the text found uses bulleted or numbered formatting, and if so what type.

Don't Care

The search does not check for the presence or absence of bullets and numbering.

None

Determines that the text must not use bulleted or numbered formatting.

Numbering

Determines that the text must use numbered formatting. The type of numbering can be selected from the drop-down menu.

Bullets

Determines that the text must use bulleted formatting. The type of bullet can be selected from the drop-down menu.
