Structured Authoring

Structured Authoring uses rules to define how content can be created and used. This section tells you how to work with Author-it's implementation of structured authoring.

Implementation of structured authoring is optional, and you get to choose the level of enforcement that suits your library and work flow. You can create structures that enable the author to have more options when they work with content, or you can follow a full implementation using rules that enforce strict adherence to content requirements.

You'll find instructions for:

  • Working with the structure builder.
  • Creating Book rules.
  • Creating Topic content rules.

You'll also find sample content and validation examples for:

  • Single level and multi level books.
  • Topics with child content such as character styles, images, and hyperlinks.
  • Topics with lists and procedure steps.
