Hardware and Software Recommendations for Installations

We recommend the following hardware and software for a small installation using Author-it Core:

Size - Small (up to 25 users ):	Author-it Core

Author-it Windows Client (Core)	Processor: 1 GHz processor RAM: 1 GB (recommended 2 GB) Operating System: Windows XP (SP3), Vista (32 bit), or Windows 7 (32 bit) workstation .Net Framework Version 3.5 Service Pack 1 MS Word 2003 or 2007 (only if publishing to Word or importing Word documents is required) PDF Driver (if publishing to PDF is required): Adobe Acrobat, FinePrint, or Word 2007 add-in for Author-it 5.3.
Database Server (suggested when there are 10+ users)	Processor: 2 GHz or higher RAM: 2 GB Operating System: Windows Server 2003 Standard Database: SQL Server 2005 Express or 2008 Express when database is under 4 GB, otherwise SQL Server 2005 or 2008 Standard or Enterprise
Note: Windows Client and Database Server can be installed on the same machine.
