Author-it Live 5.1.105.54 (23-Jul-2008)

This release includes the following enhancements:

  • Support for Author-it 5.1 Libraries: Live now works with 5.1 libraries, unless they include variants. Support for Variants (a new feature in Author-it 5.1) is planned for a future release of Author-it Live.

Note: This means that you cannot use Author-it Live once you have created variant criteria. If you intend to use Author-it 5.1 and Live, you must not create variants.

  • Versioning: Versioned objects can now be created and managed from within Author-it Live.
  • Integration Server Not Required: Functionality is now combined directly with Author-it Live for increased performance and ease of installation.
  • New Configuration Tool: A graphical tool for configuring Author-it Live without giving you a headache!

The following issues have been resolved in this build:

  • When you log in using Active Directory, Author-it uses your network domain and user name as authentication and logs you in to the Library through Author-it Live. If no Author-it user account exists, Author-it now creates an account automatically using your AD login name and adds you to the Author-it groups that are assigned to your Active Directory group.
  • When creating a new topic based on a template containing placeholder or boilerplate text, that text is now included in the new topic.
  • Inserting or editing a table no longer produces an error on save.
  • You can now move an object from one folder to another.
  • Publishing where the profile is set to prompt on publish no longer causes a "given key was not present in the dictionary" error.
  • When creating a new folder the permissions from the parent folder are inherited immediately - so you no longer get permission errors when trying to create content in the new folder.
  • Restricting folder permissions so users can't delete content, now works as expected.
  • If using Xtend, you can now enter a carriage return while the Xtend popup is displayed.
  • Variable assignments on an object template are now assigned to new object based on that template.
  • Changing a topic description through the properties form no longer throws an unexpected error.
