Editor Settings

Before adding a library to the configuration tool you must complete the general settings for the Editor.

• Save - saves the current settings.
• Close - closes the current configuration settings. Use this setting if you have more than one library and you want work with configuration settings for another library.
• Read only mode - opens the library as read only, the library contents can be viewed but not modified.
• Active directory login - enables Live Editor to be opened using Active Directory login.
• Reload saved topics - used for advanced troubleshooting if topic content is not saving correctly. Default setting is not selected.
• Help URL - points to the Author-it Live Help files.
• Image cache duration - used for advanced troubleshooting to fine tune web server image cache performance. Default setting is 5 minutes.
• Xtend enabled - activates Xtend.
• Xtend service URL - the web server location for the Xtend Service install.

To Complete the Editor Settings:

1. Select Editor, then choose Configure Author-it Live Editor Installation.
2. Browse to the Author-it Live Editor install folder. Select the folder and choose OK. The Editor configuration options are displayed.
3. Select the options for your Library.

   

4. Save your changes.
