Installing Author-it Service Manager

Author-it Sevice Manager controls the Xtend and publishing services used by Author-it Live. After the service manager configuration tool has been installed you can link to the library, then add the settings for Xtend and publishing.

To Install Author-it Service Manager:

1. Run the Author-it Live Service Manager Setup, choose Next to start the installer.
2. Accept the default installation location, or choose Browse to define new settings. Select Everyone as the install option. Choose Next to continue.

   

3. Follow the prompts to complete the installation and close the window.
4. Using Window's Administrative Tools, open Services. Set the Author-it Service to start automatically, then start the service.
5. Open the Author-it Service Manager Configuration Tool.
6. Select the Libraries entry then choose Add Library.

   

   The Select Library window opens. Choose the SQL Server tab and add the login details and password for the library, then choose OK to save the changes.

   The entry for the library is created, with sub entries for configuring the Xtend and publishing services.

   

Complete the following steps to add the Xtend Service (Xtend users only) and Publishing settings.
