Checking In Offline Libraries

Checking in your offline library synchronizes the data it contains with the main library.

There are two steps to checking in your offline library:

  1. Checking in the library and synchronizing the data.
  2. Flagging any objects you have created offline so they are (or are not) checked out automatically next time your offline library is created.

Important: Always check-in an existing offline library before you create a new offline library. If you create a second offline library before the first library is checked in you will loose the option to check-in the first library (and any work you have completed in that library).

A copy of the offline library should be left at the location specified in the properties. While Author-it retains the offline link you are only given the option to check-in a library, ensuring a second library is not created in error. However, on rare occasions an offline library can be moved from the location specified in the properties. If this occurs Author-it loses the link to the library, and as a result, when you right-click on the offline library folder you are given the option to create a new offline library.
