Upgrading to Author-it 5.0.9.441

This is a full installation package so if Author-it 5.0 is already installed we recommend you fully uninstall your current version of Author-it 5.0 first.

Ensure all users are logged out of your library, then backup all your libraries, graphics, templates, and any other supporting files before you begin. If using SQL Server you can backup your library by exporting it to JET provided the library is under 2GB, otherwise have your SQL Server administrator back it up for you.
Uninstall Author-it 5.0 using Windows Control Panel.
Run the Author-it Setup program to begin the installation process and follow the steps.

The following issues have been resolved in this build:

Author-it:

Significant improvements have been made to publishing performance.
Library upgrades were failing when using non-english locales of Windows where the decimal separator uses a ',' rather than a '.'
Author-it Xtend was not working on non-english locales of Windows where the decimal separator uses a ',' rather than a '.' .
Numbering was incorrectly resetting when a numbered list contained an embedded topic.
When publishing to Word or PDF using linked graphics the graphics file name was incorrectly changing to match the object code. The original file names are now retained.
The folder structure now displays the trail to the currently selected folder in the title bar above the object list (eg, Parent folder \ Subfolder \ Subfolder).
Creating or viewing file objects resulted in an exception error when an OCX file was not found on the PC. This file is now installed as part of the setup.
WMF pictures published to Web outputs were displaying an increased picture size.
When creating a new file object based on no template some properties were incorrectly inheriting values from the last used template.
When creating a new hyperlink using the Insert Hyperlink button on the Edit tab, you no longer receive an error that you don't have permission to create links in the current folder when you do have correct permissions.
When dragging objects between folders, the original folder retains focus.
If publishing a book and you have not saved the book or currently open topic you now get a warning to save before publishing.
Certain styles and style templates failed to open but remained locked even though they weren't opened.
Creating a new value for an existing List Of Values variable was not enabling the Apply button so the new value was not being saved.
When using exclude criteria in publishing profiles based on a list of values variable you no longer get a "Variables must be selected" error when selecting the variable.
A topics heading level is now displayed in the status bar based on the position of a topic within the book structure.
When switching between libraries the list of Publishing Profiles in the Publishing Pane now updates to display the profiles of the current library.
Title text on hyperlinks now resolves variables.
When the Author-it Xtend suggestion window appeared the Enter key was not enabling correctly in the editor.
Spell Check Book button in the Book Editor now works correctly
Creating a new character styles no longer produces an unhandled exception error.
The German 'Umlaute' character was not displayed correctly in the published HTML Help output.
Non breaking hyphens display correctly in the published output.
Opening the Object Properties window a second time failed to open the object.
The View > Print Book option is now disabled when a topic is not opened in a book.
The tool tip for Show Book Details now toggles to Hide Book Details when the clicked in the Book Editor.

Author-it Administrator

When there were more than eight release states in a library the additional release states displayed an Author-it icon instead of the object and review colors.
Assigning permissions to release states works as expected with the checkboxes enabling correctly when selected.

Localization Manager

When an object is locked because it is included in job that is out for translation it is not included in further translation jobs.
When using the Translation Export Wizard to create an update every object in the selected book/release states were being updated regardless of whether they had been modified since the last update or not.
When publishing to HTML the glossary is now sorted based on the actual topic headings and not the descriptions (which should not be translated).
When creating an update the progress bar was not displaying past a certain point even though the update was completed.
Creating a new translation job with the same name as an existing job no longer produces an unhandled exception error.
Creating a translation job with linked graphics was causing the process to hang.
Linked graphics within a target library were not displaying.
Topics in target libraries containing linked graphics could not be opened.
Opening a file object within a target library and browsing to a linked image navigates to the target location and not the original source location.
You no longer get an error when clicking on linked graphic within the Library Compare window
New objects and folders were not being imported into target libraries when creating a library update.
