Grant Permissions to Publishing Profiles

Once you have installed and upgraded to Author-it 5, your library will contain a new Publishing Profiles folder. This enables you to add security - through folder permissions and/or release states - to restrict which users can publish to a particular profile. You can also restrict which users can create, modify, or delete profiles.

By default, there are 11 Publishing Profiles - one for each output type. You will most likely want to customize these profiles, or create your own profiles to meet your needs.

You will also most likely want to move this to your Restricted or Standards folder to limit access and control who can modify these.

Note: Users must have list access to be able to publish to a particular profile. If they are not given access to see the profiles, the ability to publish will be disabled.

  1. Open the library using Author-it Administrator.
  2. Choose Security > Folder Action Permissions....
  3. Grant the various groups List and Read access.
  4. Grant Create and Modify access where appropriate.
