Start the Author-it Service Using Administrative Tools

Before you can open the Author-it Service Manager console you need to start the Author-it Service using Window's Administrative Tools.

To Start the Author-it Service:

Choose Start > Settings > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services
Right-click on the Author-it Service and choose Start.
By default the service is set to start manually. If the server is restarted at any time you will need to restart the Author-it Service. However, the service can be set to re-start automatically. Right-click on the service and open the Properties window, then choose Automatic from the Startup Type drop-down list.
