File Transfer

Using the File Transfer action you can transfer files to a remote location using your FTP program after publishing has been completed.

FTP

To Create a File Transfer Action:

  1. Open the publishing profile and select the Actions tab.
  2. Select the File Transfer action.
  3. Enter a name for the action in the Description field.
  4. Enter your FTP Server settings. Select Test Connection. A message box confirms if the connection was successful. If the connection fails, check the settings and test the connection again.
  5. Select Include "All Output" to transfer all files from the publishing folder.

Alternatively, you can choose to transfer specific file types by using wildcards. Choose Add, then browse to a file. The file's pathway is added to the Files To Send field. Select the path and double-click or choose Edit. Replace the file name with the wildcard (for example, choose a file in the folder such as acme.gif and change the name to *.gif).

Note: You can also transfer additional files not located in the publishing folder using the files to send option.

  6. Choose OK to save the action. The action is added to the Before Publishing list. To move the action to the After Publish list select the action and choose the Move Down arrow.
  7. Save the changes to the profile.
