Manage

Commands for working with folders, version functions, offline options, XML, and variants are found on the Manage tab.

Does This

Create New Folder

Create New Folder

Creates a new folder below the selected folder.

Refresh Folders

Refresh Folders

Refreshes the library's Folder List.

Delete Folder

Delete Folder

Deletes the selected folder.

Move Folder

Move Folder

Opens a window so you choose a new location for the selected folder.

folder_preferences

Show Folder Properties

Opens the folder's properties.

Rename Folder

Rename Folder

Opens a window for renaming the selected folder.

Duplicate Object

Duplicate Object

Used to make a copy of the selected object, with a new object code.

Replace Object

Replace Object

Replaces one object with another object in all the object's relationships.

Create New Object

Create New Version

Used in version control. Creates a new version of a selected object, with the same object code. The original version of the object remains active until you are ready to make the new version active.

Make Active

Make Version Active

Used in version control. Makes the selected version of an object the active version.

folder_network

Make Folder Available Offline

Makes the objects in the folder available as read only in the offline library. The objects cannot be updated in the offline library.

Make Folder and Descendants Available Offline

Makes the objects in the selected folder, and all of its child folders, available as read only in the offline library. The objects cannot be updated in the offline library.

Checkout Folder

Checkout Folder

Marks all objects in the folder to be checked out in the offline library. Objects added to the folder after you have marked it will also be checked out.

Con't Checkout Folder

Don't Checkout Folder

Used to exclude folders (and objects) from the offline library.

Checkout Object

Checkout Object

Adds the selected object to the offline folder.

Don't Checkout Object

Don't Checkout Object

Excludes the selected object from the offline library.

View XML

View Objects as XML

Opens a browser window so you can view the selected objects as XML.

Opens a browser window so you can view the selected objects as XML. This option uses a stylesheet.

Save XML

Save Objects as XML

Saves the selected objects as XML. Opens the Save As dialog box so you can name the XML files and save them to a specific location.

Save and Zip XML

Zip and Save Objects as XML

Saves and zips the selected objects as XML. Opens the Save As dialog box so you can name the XML files and save them to a specific location.

Email XML

Email Objects as XML

Saves the selected objects as XML. Opens an email message with the XML files included as attachments.

Zip and Email XML

Zip and Email Objects as XML

Saves and zips the selected objects as XML. Opens an email message with the zipped XML files included as attachments.

Delete

Delete Object

Deletes the selected object from the library.

Website Manager

Website Manager Settings

Opens the Website Manager object settings so you can assign page settings and variables.

Website Manager

Aspect Book Reference

Opens the Aspect Book Settings window so you can assign an Aspect Site Reference to a book before importing it into the Aspect Database.

View Variants

View Variants

Displays the variants in the object list. Toggle the View button to show or hide the variants.

New Variant

Create New Variant

Creates a new variant from the selected object, and applies variant criteria as metadata.

Edit Variant

Edit Variant Criteria

Used to modify the variant criteria, or values, applied to an object.

Remove Variant

Remove Variant

Removes the link between the variant object and the primary object.

Make Variant

Convert to Variant

Converts an existing standard object to a variant object.

Assign Criteria

Assign Criteria

Used to assign criteria to an object without making it a variant object.
