Requirements for Publishing to Outputs

The following files are required when publishing to these outputs:

• Print: Microsoft Word 2000, Word XP, or Word 2003
• PDF: PDF driver, for example Adobe Acrobat Distiller 6.0, Adobe Acrobat Distiller 7.0, or Fineprint pdfFactory Pro V2
• HTML Help: HTML Help compiler (hhc.exe)
• Windows Help: Windows Help compiler (hcrtf.exe)

What if I use a different PDF driver?You can still publish a Word document and then convert it to PDF with any standard PDF conversion software. Alternatively, you can add a macro to your Word template and Author-it will execute this when publishing your document to PDF. The macro is launched automatically if the ConvertToPDF Sub procedure is present in the Author-it template.

Note: This procedure is only called when publishing to PDF. It is ignored if publishing to Word.
