Assigning Variables to an Object
Variables are assigned to objects using the Variable Search dialog box (accessed from the Metadata tab in the Object Properties window).
To Add a Variable Assignment to an Object:
- Right-click on the object and choose Object Properties.
- Select the Metadata tab in the Object Properties window.
- Choose New Assignment. The Variable Search dialog box is displayed.
- Display the library variables using one of the following methods:
- To locate and add a specific variable to the object, type part of the variable name in the Search box and press the ENTER key

- To choose from a list of all variables in the library, leave the search field empty and press the ENTER key.
- Add a checkmark to the variable you want to assign to the object. You can change the variable value assigned to the object by typing a new value in the assignment field, or by selecting an option from the drop-down list (for a list of values variable).
- Choose Insert Selected to assign the variables to the object and close the Variable Search dialog box.
- Choose Apply in the Object Properties window.
