Editing an Embedded Topic

You cannot edit an embedded topic directly where it is inserted in another topic. However, it's easy to edit an embedded topic.

To Edit an Embedded Topic:

1. From inside any topic which contains the embedded topic:
   • Double-click on any part of the embedded topic.

     -or-

   • Right-click on any part of the embedded topic, then choose Open.

     The embedded topic is opened in its own editor window.

2. Make your changes, as usual for a topic. Stay aware of all the places that the topic is used, so that you don't make changes that will only work in some places but not others. You may have to duplicate the embedded topic if you need it to be different in some places.
3. Save your changes and close the window. The changes are reflected in all topics containing the embedded topic, immediately if a container topic is open, or the next time those topics are opened.
