Reset Site Tab

The Reset Site tab provides the Web Administrator with the ability to rebuild a website. This is achieved by deleting the live website and the settings in Website Manager.

Resetting the site deletes:

  • The live website.
  • All settings displayed in the live mode for Languages, Experiences, or Global Placeholders tabs.
  • The website's staging history log and in the rollback folder (and files) on the web server.

You can also choose to delete the settings in the review tabs for Languages, Experiences, or Global Placeholders. If you delete the review settings the files in the review folders are not affected, or deleted.

When the live settings have been updated staging can be used to recreate the live site.

Tip

Tip: If you need to rebuild the website, you will often recreate a number of the original settings, then add or adjust a few other associations. We suggest working with the Web browser's AutoComplete function enabled, as it will substantially reduce the time taken to recreate the settings.

Note: You cannot delete individual settings within the Languages, Experiences, or Global Placeholders screens. Selecting an option deletes all settings that have been created in that screen. For example, if four languages have been set up in the Content screen, the settings for all languages will be deleted.

To Reset the Site:

  1. Open the Support screen.
  2. Select the Reset Site tab.
  3. Select the review settings you want to delete. If you do not want to delete the review settings leave the checkboxes empty.
  4. Choose Reset Site. A message is displayed asking you to confirm that you want to delete the website. Choose OK to continue. The live website, all live settings, and any review settings you selected are deleted.
