Customizing the Author-it Live Home Page

Author-it Live's home page is fully customizable, enabling you to display information relevant to your users. Each block of information is displayed in a widget that is configured to display general information, link to library objects, or a webpage.

The Home page can use three types of widgets:

Topic display - displays a topic from the library and can be used to provide company news and events, welcome information, or process and procedure information.

Topic search - the results from a library search configured to display recently modified objects, or content in selected books, or based on object type. Users can open the objects from the home page by clicking on the links.

Web display - can be used to display a page from a web site, or an HTML page with links to online content.

Widgets are configured through a home page layout file, with properties relating to its size, position, title, and specific parameters. Each user's library permissions determine whether they can see objects in the topic display or search widgets.
