HTML Book Preview

When you work in Author-it Live you can open and view individual topics. However, there will be times when you need to view the contents of a Book. Rather than publishing the Book, Author-it Live includes a preview option so you can view the contents of a book as an HTML file.

When the Book contains a Table of Contents object, a clickable Table of Contents is added to the HTML file. Clicking on a link in the contents takes you directly to that topic. The HTML preview files created for the book are stored with the publishing jobs on the server.

To Create and View the HTML Preview:

1. Locate the book using the Folders contents or Search results.
2. Right-click on the book and select Preview Book from the shortcut menu. The Generating Preview window is displayed.

   Note: You can cancel the preview at any time by selecting the Cancel button. If the job has already begun processing when the Cancel button is selected, the job will complete, but will not be displayed.

3. When the generation is completed the HTML Preview is displayed. Scroll through the file, or click on a link in the table of contents go directly to a topic.
4. When you have finished viewing the HTML Preview select Close to close the window.
