Formatting a Table Cell

Individual table cells are formatted using the Cell Properties option. The dialog box provides options for adding cell borders (assigning line width and color), adding a background color, or changing the cell width.

To Format a Table Cell:

  1. Open the topic containing the table, or insert a table into the current topic.
  2. Move the cursor to the cell you want to format.
  3. Choose Table cell properties from the Table Toolbar

    -or-

    Right-click in the cell and choose Cell Properties... from the shortcut menu.

  4. Change the cell width if needed (table measurements are based on pixels).

    Note: changing the width of a cell updates all cells in that column.

  5. Select Background Color [...] to open the color picker and assign a background color for the cell.
  6. Choose the cell border options:
    • Select the border width from the drop-down list
    • Select [...] next to the border to open the color picker and assign a border color

  7. Choose Update to format the cell.
