Creating the Sitemap File in Author-it

When a book is published to Website Manager an XML file is created containing the information used to build the sitemap and variable values that are assigned to the topic and book objects. The following image shows part of an XML file with the sitemap code created from the book's structure and the Website Manager variable values:

The XML file is uploaded to the content folder with the topic and image files. When the pages are added to Website Manager Admin the XML file is used to create the sitemap and menu structure, and store the variable values against the content in the database. Website Manager uses the variable values and sitemap information when the webpages are assembled.
