Language Selector

Author-it Website Manager uses browser profiles to determine the default language used when the webpage is delivered to the viewer. However, you will usually want to give the visitor the option to change the language from the default language.

The Language Selector functionality is included by adding a placeholder to the template at the location you want the selector to appear and defining the placeholder value at the global, experience, or language level using the following format:

placeholder name

languageSelectList([label])

AWM Function

Note: The label parameter is optional. If the parameter is not defined Language will be used for the label.

The language selector displays a list of the language profiles created in Author-it Website Manager. When the visitor selects another language from the list Author-it Website Manager displays the website using the content from the chosen language's content folder, and delivers the updated end user experience to the visitor.
