System Requirements

Before installing Author-it Website Manager you need the following:

• A web server running either IIS v5 or v6, or Apache 2 (or higher)
• PHP version 4.4 (or higher) or version 5 (or higher) installed on your web server
• MySQL Server version 4.1 (or higher) or version 5 (or higher) installed

The server may be setup locally, or provided by your web-host / ISP.

If installing on a local server you can use of XAMPP. XAMPP is a Windows installer that installs Apache, PHP, MySQL and a few other services.

Important: The default XAMPP installation is suitable for development purposes but not for secure production purposes. Consult the PHP Security Manual for information before making your website live.
